Calhoun's wife was the last person to see him before he disappeared from his Prineville home on May 30, 1999. Calhoun was reportedly depressed before he disappeared and had gone missing for days at a time in the past. His blue 1990 Subaru wagon was foundon U. S. Highway 26, about 30 miles west of Maupin near Mount Hood on June 5, 1999. Search teams from Wasco and Clackamas counties canvassed the area but did not find him.
