Mary Denise Lands has been missing since March 12, 2004 and was last seen in Marshall, Michigan. Her case is listed as a homicide by the investigating agency and her body has not yet been recovered.

Five years since a tragedy
Of the devil’s hands,
Involving the disappearance
Of Mary Denise Lands.

A daughter, a mother,
A sister, a friend,
Never to be heard from
Ever again.

Mary laughed, she loved,
She lived only 39 years,
Now her family must live
With unanswered fears.

You don’t love a child
And give them wings to fly
Every expecting to have to
Say good-bye.

A heart that beat
With feelings that felt,
And a smile that made
Her dad’s heart melt.

No more hugs for mom
She now sits alone to cry,
Why, oh why,
Did her daughter have to die?

Mary had so much more
Life to live,
Love and advice
She had yet to give. 		Her son is a first time father
You see,
But she will never hold
That grandbaby.

Mary would be happy
If she could have known,
How beautiful her daughter is
Now that she’s grown.

These kids will never feel
Their mother’s pride,
Because of abuse
She thought she should hide.

Strong women, like Mary,
Should be aware
An abuser can kill you
To show you they care.
Please help this family
As their life is a mess,
Help them find Mary
And put her to rest.

Why should a family
Have to move Heaven and Earth,
To prove to a community
What a daughter is worth?

A daughter, a mother,
